We were in the news!

Check out this great Orlando Sentinel Article about Seminole County’s plan to convert septic tanks to sewer systems to help protect our springs.

Plans are still in the earlier stages but Friends of the Wekiva River and other environmental advocates are hopeful about the project. Converting thousands of septic tanks to sewer systems would greatly help reduce the amount of nitrogen and phosphorus that is polluting our water bodies with excessive algae and invasive plants. FOWR would like to thank the author, Martin E. Comas for covering this story and inviting us to comment!
