River Reporters is still open and looking for content!

Hey friends!

In previous FOWR newsletters we introduced our new project: River Reporters! A brand new way to share what is happening on our rivers and across the Wekiva river basin. We’d like to invite you again to join!

Many of us spend time out on the river or hiking through the basin, and along the way, we see things worth sharing. Maybe it’s a stunning flower or a notable wildlife or river experience.  Other times, it might be something more concerning, like a blob of algae plotting a slimy takeover, an invasive plant staging a coup, or other concerning changes.

If you are someone who keeps an eye on the river and its surroundings, please consider being a River Reporter!

We invite you again to share your photos, observations, stories, and videos of all things Wekiva. We’d love to feature your inspiring, beautiful, and also concerning observations and updates in our upcoming newsletters and on social media. It’s a great way for all of us, together, to celebrate and protect our beloved river.

Send your submissions and a brief report or story to michelle@friendsofwekiva.org.  Please identify the date(s) and location(s) of your observations.  We will review and share information received from River Reporters.

We can’t wait to see what you report!
